Description
12 inches tall this is a pair of an elderly Chinese man and a Chinese lady. I am looking at the elongated fingers and they look like the opera doll hands circa 1850 onward. original outfits and even their slip on shoes are intact.... compo type material for lower hands and feet for both of them.. both have similar jackets lined with same lining.. Very very interesting couple.. He has a matching black skull cap .. composition face.. He has a faint grey moustache and an empty space that his beard probably was originally. overall nice condition.. bit of wear on fingers.. a few stains on his apron garment... He still has his rich blue antique beads. I feel he is very close to late 1800s to 1900. HE SHOULD have a grey goatee similar to his moustache .. He has a little hole in each ear maybe earrings at one time.. and the misses has such a character face with the most intricate antique molded headdress with antique jewels.. and gilding. She has little brass or golden stud earrings in her ears...... stuffed cloth bodies and I think they are amazing for their age at least 100 plus years old... She has a similar jacket to her husband with a ruby type antique button closing and a print skirt. similar hands.. The mrs hands are long and slim too, one thumb has a crack on it.... the tips may be a bit rough.. Their lower legs may be of a wooden material... The gentleman elder has his tunic jacket attached to the apron.. The silk black pants have a white top at the body and tied with string. .. This fabric is suppose to be silk.. The Mrs. print skirt has a tie at the waist similar to her husband\s and is under her black jacket.. There is some fraying at the front in the print skirt.. I had to look for it... filed lr cabinet 9 2024 inv
