Description inventory 488. 7 1/2'' VINTAGE wELSH (jay?) compo/wood DOLL WITH LANTERN l very interesting unidentified doll as far as labels go but pretty sure this is a Welsh doll by Jay a Jay doll with her lantern,, wooden composition doll I believe, grey legs and it looks like her one ankle has been repaired at one time., solid material lower legs and upper and body are cloth,, her hands are folded fists and wooden carved.. she is one very happy lady.. wooden carved face, smiling, blue painted eyes, notice a bit of a rub on end of nose, dark brown mohair hairdo, with her homespun woven large shawl over her head.. , underslip, black skirt and blue plaid overskirt.. charming doll about 7 1/2 inches tall. .. This lady, mature I believe, is one very lovely character doll.. as shown in picture... only can have one picture on this site. email me if you wish others. THIS picture shows a bit of her leg repair on her left leg.
