Effanbee was founded by Bernard Fleischaker and Hugh Baum, who combined their initials into the name Effanbee, a premier quality doll. no certificate with her just this beautiful tall doll.. circa 1985 This lady doll who is dressed in the finest wear of 1910 when the company began, is a true achievement. A booklet of the history of Effanbee describes her well. I quote, "Diamond Jubilee herself is a 19 inch lady doll of classic features and consuming. She represents a lady of 1910... and is the epitome of Effanbee doll fashion. The doll is dressed in a floor-length gown and matching cape of black velveteen. In keeping with the fashions of the early 1900s, the doll's costume had short puffy sleeve, a fitted bodice and a flowing full skirt; the cape is lined in white satin. The doll also wears sheer black hose and elbow length black lace gloves... crowned with a puff of silky marabou that is secured in her hair with a rhinestone clip.... has many miniature accessories, adding to her intrinsic and esthetic value. Rhinestones of the highest quality adorn her choker necklace, stud earrings, bracelet and waist buckle. . The bodice of the gown is trimmed with a dazzling array of pearls and beadwork. On her arm the doll carries an evening bag adorned with sequins and rhinestones...." no box and as I received her with her lovely elegant velvet gown etc, jewelery, her shoes were missing and added genuine black leather tie shoes. just lovely and too tall for small packet airmail. filed doll room 9 2023 inv go by pictures. she has porcelain face finely created, she is vinyl and jointed limbs. inset hazel eyes. rolled antique hair do dark brown. she just is beautiful. she has many of the vintage hair pins in her shiny hair to keep the style in place.. a bevy of curls.. stunning long velvet cape lined with white satin and has a high collar., attached to her outfit..
