24" Adolf Wislizenus child dressed in beautiful grape velvet dress. Lovely bisque socket head on ball-jointed composition body. Peaches and cream complexion molded brows with fine painting. Large stationary blue grey eyes.Original brown mohair wig. Head is in excellent condition,no hairlines or chips.Compostion body also in great shape, nice original finish. Doll is dressed in a beautiful grape colored velvet dress with white lace trim. Flouncy full slip trimmed with lace, pantaloons also with lace trim. New white cotton socks and black patent shoes. Marks: A .W. Special Germany. Adolf Wislizenus introduced Jumeau's ball-jointed doll body to the Waltershausen doll industry. Wislizenus and other doll factory owners improved on the French prototype and became the world's producers of ball-jointed doll bodies. Circa 1910 Lovely,pensive child doll in a hard to find large size. I love this specialty German doll and just did not like her in her velvet dress,, her soft feminine features were not realized so I Redressed in antique print dress and is as shown in the pictures the dress is from my France 24 French doll...
