Description Wonderful highly collectible vinyl doll of a young girl manufactured by South Australian doll company Metti Australia, 1970-1976. 'Bindi' is wearing her original short red skirt which comes with the doll. Bindi's eyes close when laid down. sHE HAS THICK BLACK EYELASHES.. Metti Australia was established in South Australia in 1965 by Richard Hall and Luciano Hall. After recognising a lack of Australian themed dolls, they began producing several First Peoples dolls, designed by Adelaide sculptor Arturo Comelli in consultation with anthropologists at the Adelaide University. These included this girl doll named 'Bindi'. A unique addition to any doll collection. Condition is good, SHE IS INTACT but needs a good spa treatment and her hair groomed... write up online. we have the same doll. She has been in storage and needs a good spa with Dawn soap perhaps. original red waist cloth. Good to read about her history . Filed doll room 4 2023 inv.. she is about 13 inches tall.. open closed mouth with white painted teeth.. rooted reddish hair, very dark brown skin.. a tag says this doll came originally from Rosemary McLean dolls.. circa 1970s
