Description
The 1999 Generation Girl series was very popular with young and older collectors for its new face molds, ethnic diversity, and fun clothes and accessories. There were even special outfits issued for the Generation Girl dolls. At one time Mattel boasted that 20,000 visitors per day were visiting the generationgirl.com website. The series was also considered somewhat controversial because some of the Barbies had an ankle tattoo, and another doll, Chelsea, came with a nose ring. The first Generation Girl Barbie Doll (1998) came with two outfits including a jeans jacket, glittery dress, formal dress, movie camera, tapes, phone, carry sack with water bottle, necklace, and other accessories. Some editions had a tattoo on the ankle which are considered harder to find. new in box Generation girl Barbie.
