my next doll at 27 inches tall and decided to find out more about this Jenny Doll .. what a story. and the more I took pictures the more I love her. .. This Jenny Ballerina was designed and created by Judy Pilgrim Stewart, Fort Garry, Winnipeg.. What a history and story. You will see from the pictures she signs the back of the doll...This Jenny doll wears a 19th century inspired silk ballerina costume and number 1094.. Jenny is her daughter's name.... Nice long cloth stuffed ballerina legs.. I really like this doll. so she would be truly one of a kind.

There was an article in the magazine about Judy and her dolls. Apparently she was a prolific designer and at the time the article was written she had produced 1,394 dolls and her inventory was growing at a rate of 60 a year!!!!
She graduated from the University of Manitoba after studying textiles, costume design and art history. Her studio was in the attic of a rambling old house on the bank's of Winnipeg's Red River. She first started making dolls in 1967 with hand painted faces and meticulously researched period clothing... unquote a true Canadian doll artist.. The costuming is beautiful and has silk puff sleeves in blue and a net crinoline in blue.... You learn something new every day with the doll world....
