this darling 9 inch hand made ethnic war time doll is so cool and neat.. check out her soldier friends.. they all came together,, three soldiers, one a marching soldier and two ethnic dolls.. the soldier, one of them, has an UNRRA label which quote he United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) was established by agreement of 44 nations on 9 November 1943; operations came to an end in the latter part of 1946, with the last staff appointment terminating 31 March 1949. The purpose of UNRRA was to "plan, co-ordinate, administer or arrange for the administration of measures for the relief of victims of war in any area under the control of any of the United Nations through the provision of food, fuel, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities, medical and other essential services".[1] UNRRA provided billions of US dollars of rehabilitation aid, and helped about 8 million refugees. It ceased operations in the Displaced Persons camps of Europe in 1946, and in Asia in 1949, upon which it ceased to exist. so these soldiers were probably commissioned overseas for a relief effort and these two ethnic dolls are probably from that country.. homespun wool clothing.., thick wool woven pants in browns, and a camel jacket, cotton type tie, flower in the lapel, so many details, embroidered face with bright red lips, eyebrows, and silver earrings,, knit mitt hands.. and a silver connector at the waist.. fabric cloth boots with stitching.. and a little French type beret or biker cap.. sweet as can be.. inventory 169 and his or her face looks like a stocking type material. auction is for one doll only shown on the right side of the pictures thank you.   filed bin 6 inv br br 10 2020 ok . with mates.
