18" GERMAN S&Q Schützmeister & Quendt ANTIQUE BISQUE HEAD BABY DOLL, GARMENTS, SHOES    THIS DOLL IS AMAZING AND LOVELY..   almost unplayed with..I absolutely love this baby doll and she has just been restrung.... I lifted her original fine blonde baby wig and it says 201 and a symbol Schützmeister & Quendt doll mark 201 S & Q intertwined Germany on Baby dolls.. a scream of joy. these are my absolutely favorite dolls and only had a few over the years. this may be her original outfit, fur  and the old silk dress is shredded and now in a baggie, with a great coat and hat with fur trim, and looks like original shoes and socks.. they are fragile and do not want to remove them.. The body looks almost new and would say this doll was not played with or dressed often. exciting is that the back of the body has a red stamp made in Germany. Pictures will follow she is about 18 inches tall.  Please go by pictures..   She is a very solid chunky baby doll beautiful bisque head, sleep eyes   living room  11 2020 cabinet filed inv   doll reference

Wilhelm Quendt and Phillipp Schützmeister (in Coleman it's spelled Schüetzmeister) founded a porcelain factory in Boilstadt, Gotha, Germany in 1889.  Around 1908 Mr. Quendt left the firm and in 1918 S & Q became part of the reorganized Bing conglomeration called Concentraby.

After 1918 and later doll production was limited to bisque doll heads made for other Bing members such as Kämmer & Reinhardt and Welsch & Company.

The Schützmeister & Quendt company used the doll mark SQ, S & Q which is often intertwined, as shown on lower left and is found on the back of dolls heads, plus the doll mold numbers shown below.

They made Character Baby and Dolly faced bisque head black or white dolls, cloth dolls and tea-cozy dolls.   from doll reference  Schützmeister & Quendt doll mark 201 S & Q intertwined Germany on Baby dolls
