Description
from a write up a museum in vancouver b.c.  Dolls have been featured as part of advertising campaigns by such companies as Coca Cola, Gerber's Baby Foods, and, most memorably, the Campbell Soup Company. During the 1950s, the Nabob Company of Vancouver introduced a "Mr. Nabob" doll to help promote their products. The company, who registered under the trademark Nabob in 1905, took its name from the Nabobs of India, high government officials who served under the Mogal emperors. Mr. Nabob is made entirely of rubber with movable arms. His turban and elaborate, jewelled costume is in the style of the Nabobs of India. He was designed by an artist who worked in Walt Disney's studio in California.  regarding this doll.     about 9 inches tall or so.  as I  received him from an estate.  one very happy character.... the write up says rubber but he seems like vinyl and plastic to me.  as shown in the picture.. white plastic type tummy body, one hand is missing.  original costume and turkish type boots..  filed 5 2021 inv.  THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS DOLL REFERRED to him as a Nestlie Tea doll... .. the hand on the right side is missing.  swivel wrist think the hand just snaps in.
