14" 1974 FISHER PRICE CUDDLY CLOTH DOLL "AUDREY" WITH COVERALLS

Description .These soft bodied dolls were introduced in 1974. Originally there were six little girls that REFERRED to as "Little Girls", each with her own name. As these sweet, cuddly dolls starting showing up on the secondary markets, they began being affectionately referred to as "Lap Sitters". The name works! They are just the right size to snuggle in a child's lap. When you squish these dolls down on a ruler, they measure about 14". The dolls were designed with simplicity for the youngest of "mommies". They were easy to dress. Outfits were designed with easy fasteners (Velcro), no tiny buttons or snaps. They came with a removable piece of clothing such as a skirt or jacket. When their clothing was removed, they were "ready for bed" in their "pajamas that never come off". An old magazine ad touts: "Fisher-Price dolls don't talk, walk, eat, drink, sleep or do tricks. They're old fashioned that way. They've got soft bodies, just made for hugging. And irresistible faces, made for kissing...all it takes is a loving child to make them into friends." from a website... and these are very loving dolls, cherished by many.. previously owned... her red stuffed body, brown sewn on shoes.. vinyl face and hands... rooted auburn hair. she had one cute little pigtail with an old elastic, we removed it, .. she is known as Audrey #203.., nice condition , and her hair is shiny and thick, needs grooming. these dolls remind me of Mandy, and also Little House on the Prairie dolls of that same era .. no tush tag it has been cut off. her body looks like she was not played with or her clothes removed.. nice condition body.
