Per the attached biographical tag: Emily Tennessee Donelson ( - 1836) Administration: Andrew Jackson (1829 - 1837) Shortly after Andrew Jackson took office as President, he lost his beloved wife Rachel Donelson Jackson. He asked Emily Donelson, his wife's daughter by previous marriage, to serve as his hostess. The gold satin gown she wore with puffed sleeves and tight-fitting bodice were very fashionable at the time as well as her hairdo. Although only 21 when she served as hostess, she was respected for her tact. She died of tuberculosis in 1836. FOR THIS FIRST LADY ABOVE CHOOSE VERSION 1.
