7'' PRECIOUS CELLULOID 1930s MINERVA GERMAN JOINTED BABY DOLL, GOWN, CAP #1391

absolutely adorable and sweet all celluloid molded hair baby doll, German made, and believe this would be her original cotton gown with pink stitching and lace trim. matching baby bonnet too... she is loose jointed like the kewpie dolls of the 20s and 30s. wearing cutie pink and white diaper print. and a real character face with a type of grin. open closed mouth, painted blue eyes, closed pink mouth, curl on the top of her head. about 7 inches tall, not bad for her age circa 30s on estimate.. adorable linen type dress with bonnet.. chubby baby crossed legs.. mark on her back.., and there are seams running up her leg. front and back. like a helmet mark on the back and 191.. as I received her or him, previously owned and too cute. inventory 1391 doll rm 9 2022  and she has been identified.... a Minerva trademark. So it was made by Buschow & Beck in Germany. They marketed both their metal heads and their celluloid dolls under the trade name Minerva. They went out of business during the second world war, but I believe their celluloid production was halted before the war started, so sometime in the 1930’s.
