with
a composition shoulder head
and
a walking wooden body with composition lower arms and a wire-covered torso
The head is nailed onto the body by nails (2 on the front of shoulder plate and 1 on the back)
This doll was patented in 1917 by Harry H. Coleman
The torso which is in excellent condition is made of wood, wire screening and coiled springs
There are springs on the top of each leg that allow the doll to "walk" and there are hinges and joints on legs enabling her to bend
Joints on both arms are held in place by hinges which allow her to bend her arms. The hands and part of the forearm are composition UNQUOTE SHE IS INTACT AND IN NICE CONDITION FOR HER AGE OVER 100 YEARS OLD NOW.. WEARING VINTAGE CLOTHING.. AND SHOES.. The date on this doll is Sept. 9, 1919 .. antique 1919 original RARE Coleman Dolly Walker Doll--A large doll with a composition shoulder plate head and lower arm, hand on a wood and wire screened torso, (referred to birdcage dolls)--One of the earliest American made doll walkers patented in 1921--She still has beautiful facial paint, big blue eyes, with painted eye lashes and eye brows--Panted open mouth with 2 teeth--She is stamped on her back that states she is a Dolly Walker--She is jointed at her elbows, hips and knees---She stands a wonderful 28 inches tall--Overall her condition is very good considering her age-- THESE are her original pictures when we purchased her.. pictures will follow thank you..
