13'' CHARMING FOLK ART CARVED WOOD MRS MR DOLLS/ PUPPETS, HOOKS

I WISH I knew the history of this very fine pair of carved wooden dolls that could be puppets, they have old wires on the top of their heads for hanging or maybe puppetry.. wooden stick legs with wooden shoes like Dutch shoes.. to me they look very French costumed dressed.. she is a bit smaller and he is about 13 inches tall. homespun type clothes, she has a heavy cotton red apron and red gingham check skirt and blouse, with a unique navy blue head covering that also is a shawl.. those faces are so precious, large red nose, painted facial features, yellow yarn hair for her.. and he has painted features and black painted cap, , navy blue tunic and long black straight pants, red kerchief at neck, adorable wooden carved hands... great for any collector this is for the mrs. and the mr folk art carved wooden dolls. their bodies are block wooden bodies and the arms are stuffed, same with her.. great dolls inventory 1528 maybe these are Canadian products made in Quebec, somehow they look familiar.. and are connected uniquely, the arms and legs are hooked onto a bar on their wooden block body so it makes their arms and legs gangly, great for puppetry..
