8" CELLULOID VINTAGE ORIGINAL RINGMASTER DOLL, 8" PLASTIC CELLULOID CLOWN DOLL . these are vintage and 8 inches tall and I just had to share. We have the celluloid ringmaster mostly cloth with celluloid hands and face, hand painted, all one piece molded. interesting maybe the 1930s or early 40s on estimate. the ringmaster reminds me of the kewpie dolls of the 1920s and 30s. . and his companion is an 8 inch vintage plastic clown that could easily be from the 1950s.. I cannot see under his legs but they feel like celluloid not plastic so this clown may be about 1950 or 51 in a transitional doll. cute as can be, felt clothing. and his face feels like celluloid or the very early light plastic.. THE SIDE OF THE CLOWN's face is stamped Japan. filed lr cabinet 12 2020 both combined.. fragile.. and this is one of the happiest clown faces I have seen nice felt costume. and the circus ringmaster could be made from the late 30s to the early 60s depending on country allowing celluloid
