from my friend's dollection recently acquired is an adorable well kept Drowsy doll about 15.5 inches, circa 1968.. she is not the first version, she has a pink and white polka dot original sewn on her body suit. and the pull cord pulls but she is mute.. soft vinyl head with painted features and rooted blond hair, vinyl hands.. body soft stuffed covered originally in pink white polka dots flannelette.. no pajamas for this girl. , nice soft blonde hair, sleepy eyes.. previously owned by an adult doll collector. FROM A WEBSITE QUOTE Introduced in 1965, Drowsy, Mattel Toys' towhead moppet, was so-o-o, so-o-o sleepy--her eyes were always half shut and heavy lidded (she could barely stay awake)--and when you pulled her talk ring (aka "Chatty Ring") she said nine different phrases in a drowsy little girl voice, like "I wanna stay up," "Mommy, kiss me good night," and "Mommy, I want another glass of water." The sleepyhead's soft cloth body--adorned in pink flannel pajamas with white polka dots--made her the perfect pal for little girls to cuddle, snuggle, and fall asleep with at bedtime. Drowsy is unquestionably remembered as a classic childhood doll for those women born on the Baby Boom and Gen-X cusp (1959-1970)!
